What:  The Innovation Express overview provides a 2-4 hour introduction to the themes of how to lead and manage innovation as a “system” that delivers increased speed and decreased risk.  The Program is a high-energy and hands on overview designed to expose attendees to a new innovation mindset with a particular focus on what their role is in the process. Generally the session is part of a sponsored breakfast or lunch session with the interested group.

   

Why:  It is well understood that companies that innovate realize 200 to 300% increases in profit growth as they escape market forces that create commodities out of all products and services.  The challenge with innovation is that the current mindset is that innovation is a random act of artistic creation. 


How:  You learn through interactive “experiments” during the session. The agenda varies based on the needs of the group of attendees but the basic flow is as follows:


    A framework for “Why innovation and why now?”    

    A 20 minute Hands on Innovation Experiment    

    A laser focused definition of what is an “Innovation"   

    Basics of how to 7x the Creation of Innovation

    Basics of how to use Communication systems to drive out fear

    A “re-do” of the Innovation Experiment to show what you learned    

    An application of Innovation Engineering to a specific challenge to your business or non-profit


Create, Communicate, Commercialize Meaningfully Unique Ideas 


This full-day Innovation Workshop delivers a basic understanding for increasing innovation speed & decreasing risk. In this full-day event, you will learn to accelerate ideas for new or improved products, processes, and services.


Test Drive Workshops provide a sampling of the basics of the how to CREATE, COMMUNICATE & COMMERCIALIZE Meaningfully Unique Ideas.


Test Drive Workshops are taught using the Cycles to Mastery™ teaching system.  It’s a system of learning that has been found in University research to be 4 times more effective than classic training programs.


Each public Workshop involves a series of digital classes that are watched in advance and one compressed day of both LAB Classes that drive deeper understanding through case study examples.  And APPLICATION Classes where you begin the process of applying the learning to your company situation. The Innovation Engineering Test Drive Workshops include:


CREATE:  Here you learn the new mindset that creates a 6x increase in the number of high quality ideas versus classic “brainstorming.”  It features a special focus on how to enable active learning from customer insights, marketplace benchmarking, technology and future mining.  And, how to leverage a collaboration mindset to create an exponential increase in effectiveness.


COMMUNICATE: This workshop exposes you to the new “outside in” thinking approach that doubles your odds of success by turning sales and marketing into a customer pull system.  It also provides a simple way for defining ideas so that everyone - from front line worker to the CEO can speak the same language.


COMMERCIALIZE:  This workshop is a transformation in how to reduce innovation risk.   Instead of attempting to “plan, study and study away risk” you learn the new Fail FAST Fail CHEAP™ approach.  It’s a modern and accelerated version of the classic Deming learning cycle of “Plan, Do, Study, Act” applied to innovation.


As a prerequisite for attending each Innovation Engineering Test Drive Workshop, we ask that you watch a video for each of the 3 focus areas - Create, Communicate and Commercialize. By watching the videos in advance, we can dive straight into hands-on application during class.  On average, each video is about 20 minutes long and the quiz will take you an additional 2 minutes to complete. In total, you should set aside about 60 minutes to prepare for training prior to the event. A link to the videos will be provided prior to the workshop for registered attendees.


What’s Next:  Innovation  Test Drive Workshops cover 6 of the 48 Skills that make up the Innovation Engineering Body of Knowledge. After the workshop, many attendees and their leaders look to pursue black belt and green belt innovation education and system deployments within their companies.

Experience Description:


Ignite Negotiation Performance goes well beyond traditional classroom negotiation skills training. During the program, participants plan for, negotiate, and

debrief three highly challenging case-simulations. 


With each negotiation, participants learn relevant and practical content, and apply the content using an inventory of negotiation strategies, and creative-thinking tools. 


Additionally, special attention is given to the human element in negotiations, by learning how to negotiate with people that have different problem solving and decision-making styles. 


The negotiation case simulations, creative thinking exercises and tools, and facilitated discussions enable participants to encounter immediate learning, receive expert feedback, and to apply their learning to current negotiation situations.


The learning methods are designed to produce an environment where participants can think creatively, negotiate, solve problems, and behave in a highly productive manner.
