What are Three (3) Simple Steps for Transformation?
The three (3) steps below are both simple and inexpensive to implement. It’s essentially conversational and opens the door for what “could be” in the supply chain.
Step 1: Create an open innovation strategy for the suppliers that support your organization.
Why it matters? – The open innovation strategy encourages your supply base to bring ideas for products, processes and services to your organization. Look to create simple frameworks to get started. There is a simple question to ask that will help enable the approach.
Step: 2: Want a simple way to get started, simply ask your suppliers “Beyond what you supply to us, what else do you do?”
Why it matters? – This simple “what else” question opens the door for a rich discussion that will follow. Suppliers sharing skills and services that your organization might not know ever existed. Listen deeply to the responses.
Step 3: Discuss the alternate services with your suppliers and how those services can apply to your organization.
Why it matters? – The simple conversation outlined here, is a “game-changer” to work with your suppliers and craft a plan to long term growth.
